About Evennight
Evennight is operated by Bryan Johnson. These terms describe permitted use of the Evennight app and website. The Android app is currently in private testing. Contact support@evennightapp.com with questions before using it.
What the app can do
Evennight plays masking sound through a phone speaker. Adaptive mode uses nearby sound to adjust its output; Steady mode plays a continuous sound. It cannot remove outside noise, reliably predict every noise event, guarantee uninterrupted operation or guarantee sleep improvements. Results depend on the phone, its placement, the room, the sound and the user. Calibration does not establish a medically safe volume or guarantee alarm audibility.
Safety comes first
Use the lowest comfortable volume. Never use a level that prevents you from hearing a smoke alarm, carbon-monoxide alarm, warning, another person or an emergency. Adaptive sound can rise: check that important sounds remain audible at the highest level you intend to use. Stop if sound causes discomfort or reduces necessary awareness. Evennight is not an alarm, baby monitor, security system or emergency-detection service. Do not use it where masking could put you or another person at risk, including while driving, operating machinery or supervising someone whose calls you need to hear. Keep phones and chargers uncovered and away from bedding.
General wellbeing, not medical care
Evennight is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition. Website research describes the studies cited; it does not establish a clinical benefit for Evennight. Seek qualified medical advice for persistent sleep or hearing concerns.
Permission to use the app
You may install and use a lawfully supplied copy for personal use on your own compatible Android device. Evennight’s branding and original app and website materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Do not misrepresent the app as your own, distribute modified copies under our name or use the service unlawfully. Rights granted by open-source licences or by law are unaffected.
Your phone and other apps
You control the phone’s media volume. Calls, other audio, power management, system updates, device faults or output changes may interrupt masking. Check your settings before each session. The app is intended for adult users and is not designed to monitor or protect a child or vulnerable person.
Privacy
Microphone audio is processed on the phone and is not recorded or uploaded by Evennight. Saved settings and presets remain local. Our privacy policy explains the app, website and support email.
Preview availability and future purchases
The current preview is provided for testing and has no purchase or subscription function. Features may change as testing continues. Any future paid offer, price, billing terms and cancellation or refund information will be presented before a purchase; these terms do not authorise a charge. You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time.
Responsibility and your legal rights
Please use the app with reasonable care and follow its safety information. We do not promise that the app will suit every environment, detect every sound or operate without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, we do not provide additional guarantees beyond those expressly stated.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer rights or liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Accepting a safety notice does not waive those rights. Any remaining responsibility is determined under the law that applies to you.
Changes and contact
We will date updated terms and make them available in the app or on this website. Material changes will be brought to your attention before they apply to your future use. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. For support, safety reports or questions, contact support@evennightapp.com.
