What is the difference between Adaptive and Steady?
Adaptive listens for changes around the phone and gently adjusts the masking sound. Steady plays a continuous masking sound and does not need the microphone.
Do I need to calibrate every night?
No. Save a named preset and reuse it while the phone, its position and the room are substantially the same. Recalibrate after moving the phone to a different location, changing its usual surface or making a significant change to the surroundings.
Does Evennight need Wi-Fi?
No. The masking sound, Adaptive analysis and saved presets work on the phone without Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Does Evennight record the bedroom?
No. Adaptive mode analyses sound as it arrives and does not save or upload microphone audio.
Can I use my phone while masking is active?
Yes, but another app that plays audio may pause or stop Evennight. Return to Evennight and tap Start when you are ready to resume. Both apps use Android’s shared media volume, so check the volume before playing a website or video.
Can I lock the screen?
Yes. An active session is designed to continue with the screen locked. Android shows a notification while the session is running so it remains visible and controllable.
What if I cannot hear an alarm?
Stop the app and lower the phone volume before using it again. Evennight must always remain quiet enough for emergency and important sounds to be heard.
