What is the difference between Adaptive and Steady?
Adaptive listens for changes around the phone and gently adjusts the masking sound. Steady plays a continuous masking sound and does not need the microphone.
Do I need to calibrate every night?
No. Save a named preset and reuse it while the phone, its position and the room are substantially the same. Recalibrate after moving the phone to a different location, changing its usual surface or making a significant change to the surroundings.
Does Evennight need Wi-Fi?
The masking sound, Adaptive analysis and saved presets work on the phone without Wi-Fi or mobile data. The subscription release needs internet for purchases, restoration and occasional access checks. Once access is confirmed, it can be used offline until the confirmed period ends or 30 days have passed since the last successful check, whichever comes first. After restarting the phone, connect again to check access before starting a new session. On devices that cannot identify phone restarts, reopening the app may also require a check. A billing check does not stop an already-running session.
Does Evennight record the bedroom?
No. Adaptive mode analyses sound as it arrives and does not save or upload microphone audio.
Can I use my phone while masking is active?
Yes, but another app that plays audio may pause or stop Evennight. Return to Evennight and tap Start when you are ready to resume. Both apps use Android’s shared media volume, so check the volume before playing a website or video.
Can I lock the screen?
Yes. An active session is designed to continue with the screen locked. Android shows a notification while the session is running so it remains visible and controllable.
What if I cannot hear an alarm?
Stop the app and lower the phone volume before using it again. Evennight must always remain quiet enough for emergency and important sounds to be heard.

How do the trial and subscription work?
Choose an available monthly or annual plan; both include every feature. Eligible new subscribers can receive 14 days free, followed by the local price of the selected plan. Installing the app does not start the trial or charge you. Google Play confirms eligibility, the price, billing period and first charge date before you subscribe. If no trial is offered, payment is due when you confirm. You can close checkout without subscribing. Plans renew automatically monthly or yearly unless cancelled.
Monthly plans are currently available only in the UK (£1.49/month) and US (US$2.00/month). Annual plans are £7.99/year in the UK and US$9.99/year in the US, and remain available at local prices in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

How do I cancel or restore a purchase?
Open Plan & purchases in Evennight to manage your subscription or restore purchases. Cancellation is handled in Google Play. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Restore using the same Google Play account that made the purchase, with an internet connection.
