Safety

Mask noise without losing awareness.

Sound masking should make unwanted noise less noticeable while leaving emergency and important sounds audible.

Keep the volume low

Use the lowest comfortable volume. Never set Evennight so loud that you may not hear a smoke alarm, carbon-monoxide alarm, security alarm, warning, approaching vehicle, another person, a child, a pet or another event that requires attention.

Do not rely on Evennight for alerts

Evennight does not identify emergencies and must not be used as an alarm, monitor, security system or safety device. Adaptive mode may miss, misinterpret or respond imperfectly to a sound.

Calibration does not certify a safe listening level or test whether you will hear an alarm. Check awareness at the highest masking level you intend to use and reassess after changing the phone, room or volume. Do not use Evennight while driving, operating machinery or when you need to monitor someone who depends on you.

Protect your hearing

Reduce the volume or stop using the app if the sound is uncomfortable, causes ringing, makes hearing feel muffled or produces any other adverse effect. Do not place the phone speaker directly against an ear.

Place the phone safely

Keep the phone on a stable, uncovered surface with its speaker and microphone clear. Do not place a charging phone under bedding or anywhere heat cannot escape. Follow the phone and charger manufacturers’ safety instructions.

Health information

Evennight is a sound-masking tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent insomnia, hearing loss, tinnitus or any other condition. Seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional about persistent sleep or hearing concerns.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for selecting a safe volume, checking that important alarms remain audible and deciding whether the app is suitable for your environment.
